Nothing is collected, so there is nothing to describe
Sift's privacy policy is short, and the shortness is the argument. The app has no server to send anything to, so most of what a policy usually covers does not exist here.
Your tasks stay in Apple Reminders
Sift reads and writes your reminders through EventKit, Apple's own framework, on your device. Your tasks stay in the Reminders database they were already in, and they sync through your own iCloud account exactly as they did before you installed Sift. Sift never sends them to us. The one place a task's own text leaves your device is your CloudKit private database: when you complete a repeating task, Sift logs the occurrence, and that log carries the task's title so the history reads as something rather than a row of identifiers.
Sift's own data stays in your iCloud
Sift keeps a small lens beside your reminders: which quadrant a task sits in, whether it has been triaged, what is snoozed and until when, what you focused on, what you reviewed and when, the log of completed repeating occurrences described above, and your settings. That lens lives in your own CloudKit private database, the part of your iCloud account that only you can read. We cannot read it, and neither can anyone else. Delete Sift and the lens goes with it, while Reminders keeps every task exactly as Sift last left it.
There is no Sift server
No account and no sign-in, because there is nothing to sign in to. No telemetry, no analytics, no advertising identifier, and no SDK that talks to anyone. The one library Sift uses beyond Apple's own is a local database, and it has no network code in it. Nothing is uploaded to us in the background, because there is nowhere for it to go.
Crash reports and feedback are the one exception, and they are not automatic. On the Mac, Sift writes a crash report to your own machine and offers it to you. If you decide to send it, it opens your mail app with the text in front of you and you press send yourself. Nothing leaves your machine without that press.
This website
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from another server. The two typefaces are served from this site, not from a font network. The only addresses that leave this site are the email link and, once the app ships, its App Store pages. Both are navigation you choose rather than a resource the page fetches. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
